AROUND & ABOUT WILLS: MR. MELODY’S NOTABLE NINTH STREET PERFORMANCE (3/16/15)

VIEW MR. MELODY VIDEO PERFORMING HERE:
Len "Mr. Melody" Dowd, a 58-year-old, street musician from North Philadelphia, arrives at the
southeast corner of 9th & Walnut at noon, plugs his big Greg Bennett hollowbody guitar into a
mini-Vox amp and plays for passersby during his daily five-hour sets. Mr. Melody chose Wills
Eye, he says,  because of its central location and proximity "... to the historic Walnut Street Theater."

Mr. Melody, who'se been playing the guitar since he was 18, says, "Sunshine of My Life" is one of
his favorite tunes to perform. Although his St. Patrick's Day repetoire was rather sparse, nevertheless,
Irish eyes were smiling on Walnut Street as they tossed coins into his green collection container.
